Water Damage In Hallway

This water damage happened throughout a hallway and living room area. It was wet for quite some time before we received the claim. Once water sits in your home with flooring, it will start to smell really sour, and musty like mildew. IICRC standard is to remove the flooring because it is to far gone. With carpet once it sits wet for so long it will begin to de-laminate. That is where the backing of the carpet that is glued to the face of the carpet begins to crumble and come undone. Once this happens there is no saving the carpet. We must remove it, because if we tried to save it, once the carpet was dry and we tried to steam clean it the carpet would just fall apart. That is why it is important to call us as soon as possible so we can try to save the flooring in your home. Especially hardwood flooring since it is so expensive to repair/replace.
