The great bleach vs mold debate.

Contrary to popular belief bleach will not kill mold. In fact, as much as the infamous fragrance of bleach triggers us to think that it is clean and disinfected, bleach does not disinfect porous surfaces. Linoleum, wood, cloth or even drywall will not be disinfected by using bleach. Using bleach actually can encourage mold to grow into a toxic mold because it's providing the mold with moisture needed to multiply and spread. When trying to eradicate the mold color, bleach is a good choice but will not inhibit the growth of mold.
